Differential migratory strategy in Reed warbler sub-species

This gallery contains 12 photos.

|June 2017 in the Natural Reserve of Estagnol pond| Since 2016, Frédéric Jiguet and several collaborators describe the Iberian & North African Reed Warbler as a subspecies, Acrocephalus scirpaceus ambiguus (Olsson et al. 2016 Mol Phylogenet Evol 102: 30-44). Now we … Continue reading

Tit community dynamics

Climate change drives major modifications in wintering weather and the effects of these changes on communities should be a major concern to improve understanding about the biodiversity responses in the face of climate change. To investigate this topic the bird … Continue reading

What is the expected impact of orography on the shift of species distribution range ?

This project aim to disentangle the complex effects of orography on the shift of species distribution ranges. More particularly we focus our study on the common bird, with the breeding bird survey. Continue reading

Flyways of the Ortolan Bunting

We search to better known the origin and the migration routes of birds flows through the south-west of France (including Landes) in the fall, and migration routes of different breeding populations to Russia. Continue reading

African and Asian Houbara Bustards in the face of global change

We studied the cases of population reinforcement at large scale of two endangered bustard species, the sedentary African Houbara and the migratory Asian Houbara. We modelled the current and future distributions of these species at the horizon 2070 under two socio-economic scenarios using a multi-modelling approach. Continue reading

Expected effects of European agricultural policies on framland birds.

At the European scale, we investigate the effect of this new CAP reform on farmland bird with the scenarios provide by CAPRI. Continue reading

Connectivity in metacommunity of farmland bird

The spatial reshuffling of biodiversity question the role played by species dispersal ability and population connectivity in these dynamics. To achieve this, we develop a multi-species and spatially explicit model of metapopulation dynamics accounting for climate and habitat drivers. Continue reading

The farmland bird in the face of land-use and climate changes

We used the Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) to integrate likely changes in species climatic suitability, based on species distribution models, and changes in area of farmland, based on the IMAGE model, inside future climatic suitable areas. Continue reading

Heron recolonization in France

We investigate the recolonization dynamic of the Grey Heron in France, by an approach that makes use of both census and habitat suitability data and integrates them into a spatially explicit model of colonization dynamics (cellular automaton). Continue reading
