Survey Russian Ortolan Bunting by GLS 2015

|May 2015 in Yamaskya Step (Gubkin,Russia)|

For the National Museum of Natural History French, during the month of May 2015, we are going to the reserve Yamaskaya steppe near the town of Gubkin Russia, to investigate the flyways of Ortolan Bunting (Research program of Frédéric Jiguet).

After the first year of this program, with Anne-Christine Monnet, Caroline Moussy and Maxime Zucca, we had two main aims. Firstly we had to recovery GLS that we attached during the previous spring and secondly attached many new devices with a new method.

Unfortunately, all birds that we recovered had lost their device. Finally, we caught forty Ortolan Bunting males and we attached new devices on their back with a more stronger method. Next year we should come back and manage to recovery these GLS.
